The Environmental Information Division (EID) is comprised of two sections, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Environmental Education and Public Awareness. Both sections work closely with the other units that comprise the Conservation & Fisheries Department in helping to streamline and increase environmental information gathering, storage, and retrieval, as well as, helping to promote environmental education & raising public awareness.

The primary role of the EID as an integrating and dissemination group puts it in a prime position to help develop strategic programmes for the department and the unit’s project plan for 2006 is indeed quite aggressive. Currently, the section is working on projects in several key areas, which include the annual Summer Program (in conjunction with NPT), the Environmental CD Atlas, the CFD Website, the OTEP Costal Resource Mapping, and numerous other developments.
