 The results are in for the logo competition!!

First Place Winner The winner of the Logo competition was Walden Benjamin of the BVI Technical and Vocational Institute.

Mr. Benjamin won an Ipod Shuffle and a day of fun in the sun in Jost Van Dyke. Mr. Benjamin along with his friend will partake in a snorkeling, hiking and  bird watching eco-tour of Jost Van Dyke and surrounding cays with Jost Van Dyke Scuba, as well as lunch at Foxy’s.

Second Place

 

Second place winner was Keana Laing of Elmore Stoutt High School, who is now the owner of a brand new high-end digital camera.


Third Place

Coming in third was Nema K. Henry of S.D.A. School Miss Henry won the opportunity to interact with live turtles as a part of the Conservation & Fisheries Department’s Turtle Encounters Programme.

 

Mr. Walden Benjamin winning logo will be perfected with the guidance of respected local artist Rueben Vanterpool.
 

 

The International Coastal Cleanup 2009Lions Club Coastal Ceanup at Wickham's Cay

This is the time of the year, when volunteers will be removing marine and other debris from our coastlines, beaches and waterways.  It all began 19 years ago in these Virgin Islands UK when the Conservation and Fisheries Department organized the first cleanup.  It was sponsored by the then Center for Marine Conservation, which is now The Ocean Conservancy.
