Everyday trash is collected on various beaches in the British Virgin Islands.  The Coastal Maintenance Unit or Beach Wardens are responsible for the collection of trash on our beaches as well as the outlining coastlines.  

The Beach Wardens also record information pertaining to each beach visited which includes:

• The number of bags of trash collected
• The number of bags of seaweed collected
• The number of persons present on the beach at that time
• General weather conditions
• Any illegal activities witnessed

Every week all the accessible beaches are visited.  These beaches include:

Tortola
• Apple Bay
• Brandywine Bay
• Brewer’s Bay
• Cane Garden Bay
• Josiah’s Bay  (daily pick-up)
• Long Bay Belmont
• Roques Bay
• Sea Cow’s Bay
• Smuggler’s Cove
West End

Beef Island
• Long Bay
• Trellis Bay

Virgin Gorda
• Gun Creek
• Handsome Bay
• Long Bay Beach
• Savanah Bay
• South Sound
• St. Thomas Bay

Jost Van Dyke
• Great Harbour

Anegada
• Loblolly Bay
